Many thanks to our friends at Hershey Resorts and Entertainment for hosting our visit.
There’s always a lot going on in Hershey, PA. But dare I say that right now–February–is the sweetest time of the year to visit The Sweetest Place on Earth? With all the foodie-focused events going on around Hershey during Chocolate-Covered February, I will shout it from the rooftops – YES! It’s the chocolate event of the year!
From the Chocolate Character Parade at Chocolate World to Martini Mixology Classes for the adults, there’s something going on for everyone during the February events in Hershey. Watch a free Chef Demonstration, try Truffles for Couples (for the true chocolate aficionados), or take the kids to watch as the animals at ZooAmerica enjoy a special chocolate treat.

Which is your favorite Hershey destination?
Chocolate Tea at The Hotel Hershey
The best part about Chocolate-Covered February is that you can make it exactly what you want. Go for one event, or book a room at The Hotel Hershey or Hershey Lodge and stay overnight. As much as we would have loved an overnighter, parenthood wasn’t allowing it this weekend – so we decided to leave our kids with my parents (Thank you, Mom and Dad!) and relax over High Tea in The Fountain Lobby at The Hotel Hershey.
In case I haven’t mentioned it before, this is definitely my happy place.
Of course, no trip to Hershey is complete without (drumroll please) a CHOCOLATE martini! We got to the hotel about 20 minutes early so we could enjoy just one drink at Trevi restaurant, and it was the most peaceful, quiet, no-kids-in-tow 20 minutes ever. The caramel and salted peanut rim on the glass didn’t hurt either.
Wrapped in some serious warm chocolate fuzzies, we walked over to the Fountain Lobby where we were immediately seated and served the most delicious scones, lovely creams and jams, and an assortment of teas.
That I was going to drink without interruption…before they got cold. I was downright giddy.
That was when I caught the first glimpse of the menu.
Now, I don’t really know why I was surprised. Hershey does everything right. I’ve literally never had a bite of food at any of Hershey’s events that didn’t “wow” me, and this menu was no exception. Who knew that white chocolate and chives were the ingredients my cucumber sandwiches have been missing?
My favorite? Close call, but I have to give it to the Chocolate Chicken Salad.
And then there was dessert. Just enough chocolate, just enough other yummy things, like blueberry almond tea cake and a ripe, juicy enrobed berry. Let’s just say that I audibly sighed happy sighs enough times that I was afraid the waiter might think there was something wrong.
Shame on me for never realizing the potential of an afternoon date!
What Event Would You Choose?
There are still plenty of chances to attend Chocolate Tea this February. I honestly couldn’t recommend it more.
Or maybe another event is more your style? From upscale buffets to beer and chocolate pairings, you’ll find your sweet spot in Hershey.
Take a look at the entire schedule for Chocolate-Covered February events, including events designed just for couples, friends and families, then book what speaks to you. But be warned, if you speak chocolate like I do, you might find yourself really busy this month.
