This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Turkey Hill Dairy. All opinions are my own. #TurkeyHillGelato
Let me assure you, I’m very dedicated to my work. So when Turkey Hill Dairy asked me to purchase 3 of their new all natural gelato flavors and give them a try, I didn’t stop there.
No, sir, I bought all eight. Oh come on, wouldn’t you? Especially with the smiles that follow?
I make no secret of the fact that ice cream is my favorite way to treat myself, unwind, celebrate, eat dinner…whatever. You name it, if ice cream is involved, I’m there. But any time you can make something I love even richer, with decadent flavors and simple ingredients we can feel good about – like real milk, cream, sugar, and vanilla? Well, then you’ve won yourself a fan for life.
(But then, we’re already huge fans of all things Turkey Hill, so this is just another score for our local hometown heroes.)
We’ve been tasting all week, with the kids trying their favorites (with or without a spoon!), my parents dropping over for a scoop, and an all-out stampede when I announced that I had gotten my photos and the rest was fair game.
We started with the Purely Vanilla…
then quickly moved on to the Peach Mango, Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Mint Chocolate Chip, Coffee Chip, Hazelnut, Sea Salted Caramel, and Chocolate Peanut Butter.
On top of offering a great list of flavors with chunky mix-ins and thick swirls of fudge and peanut butter, Turkey Hill all natural gelato has less air than most ice cream, giving it a denser, richer texture that makes it really satisfying in reasonable portion sizes (if you can manage to stop. It’s not easy.) Just look at all that peanut butter…
As much as I love to indulge in something truly special at the end of a long day, I *am* trying to keep my portions in check. (Ok, sort of. But I’m trying to be responsible here.) So I set aside some of our all natural gelato to make some pre-portioned frozen treats that I can just pull out of the freezer whenever I want. A 1/2 cup serving, nestled into a sweet little ice cream sandwich. It doesn’t even leave me with a dish to wash!
And I’ll let you in on a little secret. Do you know what “cookie” makes the best ice cream sandwiches ever? A nice, crisp pizzelle! They’ve got the perfect texture, and I can’t think of anything better to pair with an all natural gelato as good as this.
Just scoop, sandwich and freeze! How easy is that?
Turkey Hill Dairy is the first major ice cream brand to offer an all-natural gelato, and we’re lucky enough to have them right here in PA! But not to worry – all Natural Gelato is available at select retailers wherever Turkey Hill products are sold. Follow them on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with new limited edition flavors, promotions and the latest Turkey Hill news.
Are you a gelato fan? Which flavor would you try first?
