This post was hosted by Hershey Resorts and Entertainment. | Planning some Pennsylvania travel? Maybe a family vacation or just a weekend road trip in PA? If you’re looking for a destination that has enough fun to keep the kids occupied and hassle-free enough to keep the whole family happy, you’re looking for the newest PA waterpark – Water Works at Hershey Lodge! It’s the newest feature at The Hershey Lodge, and it’s included in the room price for all Lodge guests.
30,000 Square Feet of Fun!
Technically, Water Works is a water complex, but you just might call it your newest favorite place to spend the weekend. Park your car, check into Hershey Lodge, and you’re set. Water Works is on-site family-friendly chocolate-filled fun. (Ok, so the pools aren’t exactly filled with chocolate, but the rest of your stay at the Hershey Lodge will be!)
From Hershey’s candy bar lattes at the on-site Cocoa Beanery cafe to Hershey’s Kisses on your pillow at night, chocolate is at your fingertips the whole time. (Yes, this photo was taken inside the new waterpark at 7:30am, with a Reese’s latte in hand. My kids were up and at ’em early!)
What you’ll find at Water Works:
Sand Castle Spray Zone Splash Pad
Our kids are 6 and 3 years old, and sometimes the difference in their ages can be a challenge. But not at Water Works! There’s a big splash pad where the littlest guests can spray, slide and splash in safety. The floors are non-slip, and there’s plenty to keep the kiddos interested. Like the rest of the complex, there are only a few small spots where kids can hide, so it’s really easy to keep an eye on one or more at a time.
Zero-Entry Pool
The zero-entry pool is really unique, and the kids loved splashing in the shallow, ankle-deep entry area just like they do at the beach. This pool has so many fun features, yet it’s still really shallow for toddlers and tiny kiddos.
This huge umbrella fountain was a favorite spot for my son to hang out, and both kids loved trying to escape getting drenched by the tipping buckets.
Twizzler Twists Water Slides
Here’s where the action really started for us. The kids were already having a blast, but then my son saw the bright red Twizzler slides. Two big twisty, turny water slides that start inside, go outside, then end in a fun chute inside, where an attendant sits to ensure safety
My husband told him to wait a little bit and he’d go with him, but then my little guy shocked us both. He pointed to the chute on the left and said, “Watch right there, Mommy. That’s where I’m going to come out.” And then he went up the steps. There was no way I thought he’d tackle those slides alone, but sure enough, he did! About 100 times. I’ve never seen him so proud of himself!
Reese’s Water Walk
Finally, the big pool. Because the water in this pool is 5″ at the deepest point, this is where Dad and I got in on the most fun. Basketball hoops, beach balls, dolphins to sit on, and the star of the whole show: The Reese’s Water Walk! You can sit and scoot across the peanut butter cups, or dash across using the rope overhead.
No matter your age, this is fun for everyone!
What else will you find ?
- Relax poolside at the Cocoa Cabana, where you can pick up a quesadilla, French fries, ice cream or even a signature cocktail. (Drinks by the pool! Score!)
- Visit the arcade where you can play ski ball, air hockey and more (and cash in your points for prizes!)
- Rest and rejuvenate in the bubbling hot tub, especially if you’ve been exploring Hersheypark all day. (Thanks to Hershey Lodge for making the hot tub large enough that you don’t have to get all “up close and personal” with strangers.)
- Venture out to the outdoor pool, if you’d like to catch a few rays.
Hours:
Indoor Pool: 6 AM – 10 PM
Splash Pad: 8 AM – 9 PM
Twizzlers Twists Slides: 8 AM – 10 PM
Arcade & Fitness Center Open 24/7 with room key
Outdoor Pool: 12 PM – 6 PM Saturday & Sunday
We’ve always loved Hershey resorts and attractions, but WaterWorks at Hershey Lodge takes it to a whole new level. Traveling with kids has never been so easy and so much fun, and this trip was just the first of many! Safety and cleanliness were absolutely at the quality we’ve come to expect from Hershey, and every detail was taken care of. Fresh towels, lots of life vests, attentive lifeguards, snacks, games and plenty of smiles – what more can you ask? This trip was part of my Sweetest Moms Ambassadorship, but we’ve already booked two more weekends at Hershey Lodge on our own dime, and that pretty much says it all, doesn’t it?

I haven’t been to Hershey in years. This so makes me want to go back!
I’ve heard so many great things about Hershey. I’m putting it on our bucket list!

Oh my, I want to go! I need to check into taking my munchkins. Thanks for letting us know about this place.
Ok, that place looks amazing. I totally want to take a trip there just for the water park
I’d love to see a chocolate filled pool too, but short of that, the Hershey Lodge looks like a great time. LOL I really like that they have different options for different age groups to have fun!

This place looks super fun and who can say no to chocolate?!
We have an indoor waterpark a few hours away but have never gone.
It seems that you had a good day. After seeing your post, I want to go there to enjoy myself.
