Kids’ Books About Yoga and Mindfulness
It’s not an easy time to be a kid. Especially a kid who is mature enough to understand that there are some weird things going on in the world right now, but not yet mature enough to know why, or to understand what to do with those feelings. Easing anxiety in children is no easy task, but I do find that small affirmations and daily practices can go far in providing kids the peace they seek along with giving them the tools they need to grow into adults who can handle stress, anxiety and uncertainty.
Teaching Kids about Kindness
With my own children, I find that a focus on kindness and mindfulness seems to be the key to more peaceful days. Random acts of kindness, the goodness we feel when we help others, the inner peace that happens when we take care of our bodies – those are all things that seem to resonate with my 7-year-old, and more recently, my 4-year-old, too. This collection of books was put together with them in mind, including books we personally love, along with some that have been recommended by like-minded friends. Please note, the links below are affiliate links. I look forward to updating this collection of recommendations as our own collection grows!

Interesting post and some cool book suggestions, what age do you recommend introducing these books? my daughter is nearly 3, is that too young?
What a great topic, Wendy! I really enjoyed this article. I myself am trying to apply mindfulness in my life, and I’d love to help my daughter understand it as well. I also believe in the importance of teaching kindness. I have bookmarked your post and will check out your book recommendations. We’re also working to instill a love of reading in my daughter, so maybe we can kill two birds with one stone : )
Thank you so much for your comment, Samara. Parenting sure isn’t easy (especially not right now, when it seems kindness is dwindling) but it’s nice to find some helpful tools that can help the journey along. I appreciate your stopping by!
