Quick Team Snacks and Drinks for the Time-Starved Soccer Mom

Has it happened to you? You’re making your plan of attack for the day, you’ve got a list a mile long, and then you get the text.

“Don’t forget you’ve got team snack today.”

We all know we have to do it, but coming up with ideas on the fly – especially snack and drink ideas for hungry kids who just played their hearts out – is no easy task. You want to bring something that’s wholesome and good for them, but you also don’t want to be that mom with the kale chips who gets all the eye rolls. So what do you grab quickly that will make everyone happy on game day?

Hydrate with Coconut Water

I have a new answer that is going to be my go-to from now on when I’m snack mom, whether I actually plan ahead or not. I wasn’t sure what to expect when Welch’s sent us a package with their latest creation inside, mainly because it contains a genius ingredient that makes it more beloved by me, Mom, but not so much for the kids. They’ve reduced the sugar by adding coconut water for healthy, natural hydration with only 100 calories per serving. We can pick out an alternative sweetener a mile away, so knowing that this juice has less added sugar naturally is a real win for me. The only hitch here? My kids really DO NOT like coconut water.

So this unboxing was a bit of a test.

The verdict: They love it. I’m not just saying it because they sent it to me. THEY LOVE IT. My son especially, and he won’t touch coconut – plus, he can read the bottle so he knows it’s in there. No hiding on this one. They don’t have to!

Both new blends taste great, have 30% less sugar naturally, and my kids are getting all the benefits of coconut water. Plus, they’re getting all the benefits Welch’s has always offered. Did you know that Welch’s uses the whole Concord grape in their juice – skin, seeds, and all? So you’re getting all that “super fruit” nutrition when you drink it. Their grapes are also grown right here in the US on family farms. You’ve gotta know how much we love that!

Natural hydration is especially important after a game, so we’re bringing Welch’s 100% Juice with Coconut Water this Saturday to test it out with all of the kids. But where there’s a drink, there’s usually a snack, too, so here’s our best list of both to keep you winning on game day. All easy to grab and go, all kid-approved, and all guaranteed not to get you that “crunchy mom” eyeroll. (Sometimes, you’ve gotta eek into is slowly.) *wink wink*
