Ever since my husband and I started dating, Friday night has been restaurant night. Fancy, casual, bar atmosphere, whatever happened to strike our Friday fancy…as long as it didn’t require me cooking. Of course, when our kids came along, we had to find some new, family-friendly restaurant choices (which isn’t always easy.)
But two things have not changed, and probably never will: 1. I love a good burger. and 2. Fast food joints are not an option.
This is a sponsored post on behalf of Hoss’s Steak and Sea. All opinions are my own.
After much trial and error (and stressful, chaotic nights out!) we’ve settled in with Hoss’s Steak and Sea as our go-to family restaurant. So when I heard that Hoss’s was looking for bloggers to help spread the word about their #HossomeBurgerFest, I was like a third grader with the right answer, yelling, “Oooh! Me! Me! Oooooh!”
See that word “Family” up there in the logo? They mean it. Moms of the world, Hoss’s has your back.
First, Hoss’s doesn’t make you wait. Like, at all. Which is a true gift because little ones get bored and the night can be over before it even starts. Here, you walk in, place your order from the menu on the wall, and the host walks you to your table.
Then, you can immediately walk up and fill your plate at their soup and salad bar.
The bar always has lots of choices, from fresh veggies and fruits to mac and cheese, 4–5 different hot made-from-scratch soups, freshly baked rolls (with cinnamon butter!) and a ton of other stuff, most of it made on-site. (<< That’s the big difference.)
My baby girl always stock up on lots and lots of peas. I don’t know what we’d do if they ever ran out of peas. Luckily, we haven’t had to figure that out.
And it’s a good thing that there’s so much for the kids to eat that they like, because once the burgers show up, Mama wants to be left alone. At least for about 5 minutes. (And it usually happens!)
Ah, the burgers.
Since that’s the real order of today’s business, let’s talk about the burgers. Hoss’s burgers are handmade with quality beef, and they don’t skimp on the fresh toppings. I’m extremely picky about my cheeseburgers, and this is one of the only places where I’ll get them because they are always top-notch. Lean, not greasy at all…but definitely cheesy. Just look at my mushroom swiss burger!
Multigrain bun, fresh veggies, lots of mushrooms. This is one of Hoss’s regular all-American burgers, along with the House Special, the Willie with Cheese and the Willie with Bacon and Cheese.
But wait…Hossome Burger Fest means MORE burgers!
During this special promotion (at all locations from 9/29 – 11/9) you can get one of these burgers OR one of Hoss’s 3 NEW burgers for only $5.99 with unlimited fries! Add the soup, salad, bread and dessert bar for only $3.99 more.
The newbies on the menu are:
Jalapeno Cream Cheese Burger – Spicy jalapeño cream cheese infused with A-1 sauce, American cheese, sautéed onions, lettuce and tomato
Philly Steakburger – Our Hossome beef patty smothered with chopped Philly steak, drizzled with sautéed onions, peppers, Cheez Whiz® and Dijon Horseradish.
Coney Island Burger – chili sauce, mustard, onions and American Cheese
I take the kids to Hoss’s for lunch quite often by myself because…well, because I can. I can manage them there, and we often end up with a bill that’s less than $10! Last week, we took my parents our for dinner and we couldn’t believe how low our overall total was for 6 people. Honestly, you couldn’t eat at a fast food joint for the price we paid during the Burger Fest, so we’ve decided to make a regular thing of it. And there’s a bonus – we got these passports that will help us earn freebies through 11/9!
Oh, and one last thing…if you get to Hoss’s, don’t miss the dessert bar. No matter what you like – even Whole Fruit bars like my little guy here – you’ll find it. It’s the perfect end to a Hossome meal!
