Easy Pepperoni Pizza Skewers

This #HalftimeHero creation is brought to you by Farm Rich. All opinions expressed are my own.

Now that it’s big game season, can we all agree that the really fun part is the food? Whether you’re down with the actual game or not, an afternoon of cheering with friends and chowing down on serious football snacks is hard to beat. The only challenge is that you can’t be in on the fun if you’re hanging in the kitchen all day. So, today’s “halftime hero” is Farm Rich quick-frozen snacks and appetizers, because they make it super easy to bowl over hungry football fans with snacks done your way. Dress them up, or dress ’em down – either way, they’re what you might call “Real-Life Good.” And what’s more real-life than pizza? That’s why our football party lineup starts with Pepperoni Pizza Skewers made with Farm Rich Mozzarella Bites!

Pepperoni Pizza Skewers

Farm Rich snacks are easy to find in your grocer’s freezer, and they really do have something for everyone. They’re versatile, too. Serve them as-is, or get creative in your own way.

That’s why Mozzarella Bites are perfect for us. They’re like mozz sticks, but different – because they’re wrapped in a soft, pizzeria-style crust. They fit our lifestyle because 1. we bend the “homemade” rules a little when it comes to party snacks and 2. with real mozzarella cheese and 0 grams trans fat, they’re a gooey, melty, yummy way to get your game day snack fix along with some calcium and protein.

Mozzarella Bites

(Lots of football fans coming over? Squash even bigger halftime hunger with the big 44 oz. box!) Just bake according to package directions, skewer and serve!

Mozzarella Snacks

While your mozzarella bites are in the oven, create your skewers. 2 slices of pepperoni provides the perfect amount of zip, and don’t forget the basil leaf! It’s everything.

Pepperoni Pizza Bites

But if pepperoni isn’t your thing, you can easily substitute whatever your favorite pizza topping might be.

  • mushrooms (marinated or sauteed)
  • pineapple chunks
  • sausage slices
  • black olives
  • tomato wedges
  • bacon
  • roasted red peppers
  • green peppers
  • jalapeno peppers

Depending on what you like, these skewers can be the perfect way to add in a little bit of “fresh!” My kids love tomatoes, pineapple and basil leaves.

Pepperoni Skewers

Serve them on a “field” of pizza sauce sprinkled with cheese. Want to up the “oomph”? Shake oregano over the plate before placing your skewers.

Football Game Day Snacks

Gluten-free Options

Gluten-free? No worries! Go with Farm Rich turkey meatballs instead, and skewer away!
