If you love a shower beer, this shampoo is for you.

I received BRÖÖ craft beer shampoo for free from Moms Meet, May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agree to use this product and post my honest opinion on my blog. #MomsMeet

Ok, moms. Can I get a show of hands: Who lives for the shower beer? Those few glorious moments alone, cracking a cold one and washing the days’ worries down the drain. I’m certainly a fan, and since I’ve been using BRÖÖ craft beer shampoo, every day is shower beer day! (For my hair, of course. We save the real shower beers for the once-in-a-blue-moon Saturday afternoon.)

Is beer good for hair?

Apparently, yes. I’ve often heard that it is, but I had never actually put a beer on my hair to find out. (I hear Jackie Kennedy did it often!) Malted barley in beer nourishes, repairs and protects hair, while the hops in beer are full of essential oils that protect hair from environmental stresses. (I’ve gotta find out if BRÖÖ has a face cream!) According to BRÖÖ husband and wife founders Sarah and Brad Pearsall, their shampoo and conditioner products are made with beer because they were looking for a way to assure great-looking hair without all the questionable chemicals. And who gave them the idea for their secret ingredient? Their MOMS!

See, moms know things.

After using BRÖÖ beer shampoo for a couple of weeks, I have to say that my hair has never felt better. It’s not a huge change, but it’s definitely a luxurious shampoo process. The scents are lovely and  – not at all like beer – and they’re 100% natural. My hair is shiny, but not weighed down or dull, and I haven’t been using a detangler. I’m really trying to cut down on hair products, and I find that I don’t need as many when I’m using BRÖÖ.

Plus, I love that it won’t affect my color! BRÖÖ is totally color-safe.

BRÖÖ comes in three varieties:

  • Thickening Shampoo & Conditioner in Citrus Creme scent
  • Moisturing Shampoo & Conditioner in Hop Flower scent (this one is the closest to a beer-y scent)
  • Invigorating Shampoo & Conditioner in Malted Mint scent.

The best part about BRÖÖ (and the reason I was interested in trying it): all BRÖÖ products are brewed without harmful sulfates, parabens, phthalates, silicones, dyes, artificial fragrance, polyquaternium, harsh perservatives, phenoxyethanol, PEGs, propylene glycol, DEAs, MEAs, TEAs, and dioxane. Those are all the big baddies that I look to avoid, plus a whole lot more! BRÖÖ still lathers even though it’s free of sulfates, and that’s a plus for me. I love a lather!

Bonus for the conscientious buyer: When you buy BRÖÖ, a portion of your purchase support clean water initiatives worldwide. This year, their partnership is through water.org.

Buy BRÖÖ at your local Walmart (how easy is that?) To find a store near you, visit the product locator.

While you’re there, download a coupon to save a buck on BRÖÖ! Doesn’t your hair deserve a shower beer?

I really like BRÖÖ beer shampoo and conditioner. For the first time in my half century of life, my hair doesn’t feel like straw. This stuff has a pleasant scent (read not feminine) and makes me want to run my own fingers through my hair.

Great product. Enjoy the clean scent. And no residue like I’ve experienced with many bargain store brand products.
