What’s Gobblefunk? If you’re familiar with Disney’s The BFG, you might know that Gobblefunk is the language created by creator Roald Dahl to give the BFG his unique voice. It’s made up of lots of silly words that mirror words found in the English language. When ordinary words just won’t do, Gobblefunk is the key! And now, with an exclusive free printable glossary and word search, you and your kids can speak just like the BFG!
A few examples:
childers = children
earbursting = loud
rummytot = nonsense
snozzcumber = a gruesome vegetable only found in Giant Country
(Hey, there are so many words in there that a mom can relate to!)
Print the FREE glossary below to learn a slew of other words used by the BFG, then print the word search and bonus coloring pages! Practice your new vocabulary this summer to keep those memorization skills sharp. Who says learning can’t be fun? I’m going to start using Gobblefunk words to lighten the mood when our days get stressful. How can you possibly lose your patience or get frustrated with your kids when you’re saying things like, “Who left the earbursting whizzpopper?”

Thanks to Disney for the fun freebies! Enjoy!
This reminds me of pig Latin when I was a kid. My cousins and I would speak it around adults and others that didn’t understand the language. Lol
These words are hilarious and fun and yes I can totally relate to some of them lol! My kids will love this!
How fun. I can’t wait to see this movie with my son. He loved the book.
