I received bath toys from TOMY to facilitate this post. All opinions and bathtime tips are my own.
What comes to mind when I say “bathtime”?
If you think, “Aw, bathtime is the best time of day! My kids play and laugh and the whole world is happy and clean!” then this post is for you.
On the other hand, if you think, “Bathtime makes me want to pour a popcorn bowl full of wine and stick my head in it because all my kids do is scream when I try to pour water over their heads,” this post is ALSO for you!
[Tweet “Does washing your toddler’s hair leave everyone in tears? We’ve got a solution! “]
I feel both ways about bathtime. We do have a blast most days, but both of my kids have gone through stages where they don’t want a single drop of water to touch their face. My son insists on 5 to 6 dry washcloths during every bath so his face isn’t wet while I wash his hair. It’s exhausting, exasperating, and totally unavoidable. (Especially in the summer. Kids get DIRTY!)
Unavoidable until we found a solution, that is! The TOMY Fountain Rocket is a bath toy like no other bath toy we’ve had, because it creates a super fun fountain effect when you fill it with bathwater. You just fill the rocket ship with water, watch the starfish float, then lift it up to pour the water out like a big fountain! You can even turn the dial to choose different fountain features. Designed for ages 12 months and up, this is a toy that both of my kids love playing with together, and my son has even used it to pour water over his own head.
Check it out! Bathtime tears = gone.
Even when I hold the rocket right over his head.
