About 2 months after my first baby was born, I started to ease back into my running routine. It felt much different to hit the pavement knowing that my son was watching from his stroller, and that’s when I adopted my Mom mantra: Strong mommy, healthy mommy. Any time I felt like I needed to push myself, I repeated those words over and over as my feet hit the ground. They served as a reminder that little eyes were watching and I wanted them to see me as an active, fit, and strong example.
I often wondered if it even mattered. Did his little self even notice?
And then one day he drew this picture of me….jumping rope.
When your child draws a picture of you and his perception includes love and fitness, that’s a win, right?
Now I have 2 kids, and I still run, but what I really love is staying active together as a family. That’s why I promised myself and the two of them that this would be our most fun (read: active and on-the-move) summer ever! (Which is great because I’m adding a new local travel tab here on the blog soon!)
In the past few weeks, we’ve been to Baltimore to visit the National Aquarium, Port Discovery and the Ships at Inner Harbor…
We’ve been to the Color Run. (Ok, well that was just me and a friend, but it counts as being active and the kids loved seeing me in technicolor!)
We’ve been to Hershey Chocolate World and Knoebels Amusement Park. (Check the water fountain! Ha!)
We’ve started to learn how to play soccer.
And we’re only just getting started! On top of the normal errands, gardening, and farmer’s markets we do each week, we’ve got a long list of local travel destinations that we’re knocking off week by week. And quite often, hitting the road is a spur-of-the-moment decision.
That’s why I’ve got to be ready at a moment’s notice, no matter what time of the month it is.
Mom fact: Just because you’re feeling menstruate-y doesn’t mean your kids are going to slow down. At all.
Which brings me to the business part of this post: feminine care. As much as you’d like it to, your period doesn’t take a summer vacation, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop being the active mom you want to be. You need something dependable that will TCOB (take care of business) no matter where the summer leads you.
The answer? Stayfree Ultra Thin Regular and Stayfree Overnight pads.
Just toss them in your cart the next time you hit up Walmart for flip flops and sunscreen, and you’ll be set for a vacation with no annoying surprises.
Oh, who am I kidding. If you’ve got kids, you’ll have annoying surprises. But at least you won’t have to worry about having a pad when you need one.
Now, you might ask: “Hey, I thought you were a cloth mom?” Yes, I am. But I’ll be the first to tell you when I travel, I’m all about a dependable pantiliner. Especially if I’m stashing them in my purse for who knows how long. (Those things get lost, and cloth is expensive!)
Whether you’re hiking mountains or racing roller coasters, Stayfree has you covered. Stayfree Ultra Thin pads are inspired by high-performance fabrics, so they are thin enough to forget about, flexible enough to move with you, and absorbent enough to wick away moisture so you stay dry and comfortable.
