Official b.bag lady!

Hi, all! Today I have something a little different for you.

Sure, I love to talk about food and all things baby, but I know that all of you foodies, mamas and foodie mamas out there are just as concerned about the environment (and fashion!) as I am, so I just had to share this fun little discovery with you….my new handbag from b.bags!

Isn’t it cute?

I won this adorable handmade bag over at Sweet Greens. (Woohoo!) If you haven’t been there, you should really check it out. It’s a fresh, upbeat blog with great giveaaways!

Lora, the creator of b.bags, makes each item by hand, and her creations range from wallets to clutch purses and diaper bags.  This one is a bangle bag. Don’t you just love the colors?

With handmade items, there is always the concern that they won’t  hold up well with use. Not so in this case! I was surprised at how sturdy and durable my new bag is!

It’s just the right size for cash, cards, a phone and some makeup, and it even has a pocket inside.

All of the items for sale at b.bags are made from upcycled materials. Upcycling is the practice of reclaiming used materials and turning them into something more valuable, like taking an old curtain or jacket and making it into a handy purse. Yay for upcycling!

I love knowing that my bag is the product of a small, woman-owned business, is eco-friendly, and entirely handcrafted. I also love that it’s understated and casual, the kind of bag that adds a little interest when paired with jeans and a T  (reminds me specifically of a few friends of mine!) I think I just may have to pick up a few of these for winter solstice gifts this year! ;)

Thanks again to Sweet Greens and b.bags!

p.s. This blog post brought to you by mobile broadband while riding in the car! How ’bout them apples!
