Before I had kids, I had some pretty specific ideas on how I would handle the television. We didn’t even have cable for quite a while, and I always promised myself that I’d be the mom that only allowed educational TV, and only in small doses.
But now? Now I laugh at that mom.
Thanks to everyone for all the help in choosing our birth announcements!
It really came down to the colors in the photo, and I love the way they came out!

Of course, the text is not exactly what we used on the real announcements, and her last name is not really Awesomebaby (even though I think it should be!) but you get the jist.
What do you think? Do you like them?
Do you love Shutterfly as much as I do?
One month in, and we’re still standing!
(Actually, yesterday marked one full month with our baby girl, but a killer headache took priority and I hit the sack early.)
Our sweet Little E was born at 7lb 7oz, but at her 2-week appointment she only weighed 7lb 3oz, so they had her listed as underweight. So, to appease them, I took her in for a weight check yesterday. Exactly 2 weeks later, and she had gained a full pound, weighing in at 8lb 4oz. Take THAT! I wish doctors would utilize breastfeeding growth charts consistently. The thought that your baby might not be thriving is very scary, and could really cause doubt in many breastfeeding moms. The best rule of thumb I know: keep an eye on those diapers. If they’re full and frequent, you’re golden. And believe me, Little E has been filling hers like it’s her job (which, I suppose right now it is…) Continue reading
Ever since my first child was born, I’ve wanted to be a babywearing mama. It keeps everyone happy – baby, mom, siblings. Now that I’ve welcomed baby #2, it’s even more of a priority. The convenience of having your hands free makes the daily tasks of mothering much more manageable, and the closeness keeps baby content and peaceful. The very little bit of babywearing I’ve already done since our little lady’s birth have definitely made me a believer!
I’m excited to have partnered with Thanks Mama to give away the Onya Baby Carrier

A friend of mine took some great belly photos at my Blessingway last weekend, and I had intended to use them for my 37 week journal entry.
…BUT, it seems that baby girl had other plans!
She arrived like a whirlwind on Feb. 7th. What a day! We’re babymooning for a little while, but stay tuned for our birth story, coming soon!
Until then, I’d like to introduce our newest little nursling, Baby E!
