Celebrating Earth Day with Bamboobies: Review and Giveaway {Ends 5/10}

I have a riddle for you!

What’s shaped like a heart and fabulous enough that I keep it close to my heart all day, every day?

Yup! You got it! These days, I’m never found without my BAMBOOBIES!

Do you know about Bamboobies? They are, without a doubt, the best washable nursing pads on the market. Besides being a single-use product that ends up in the garbage, disposable pads are filled with a nasty gel (like disposable diapers) that bursts out when it gets too full. One night, I found it on my skin and my son nearly ingested it. From that day forward, I have only used washable fabric pads. I have tried so many, and mark my words: I will never use another brand. My heart belongs to Bamboobies! Continue reading

That Time My Husband Was Right (featuring Crane Humidifiers)

My husband’s been telling me for a while that we need to run a humidifier. He was all, “Hey, we need a humidifier” and I was all, “Yeah, whatever.” And then I got pregnant and completely freaked out at the thought of a stuffy nose (seriously – congestion sparked panic attacks that would. not. quit.)

We even invited some of it inside – these pretty pussy willows we found growing in our yard!

I, for one, am totally over winter. I’m ready to rip my house apart, cleaning and decluttering. And, since I have a newborn in the house, I’m especially concerned about the quality of our air.

The EPA says that in the average home, levels of organic pollutants are two to five times higher than outdoors¹ and those pollutants can lead to things like allergies, throat irritation, headaches, asthma and even cancer. Since so many of us spend a great deal of our time indoors, that’s pretty scary. The great news is that there are lots of things you can do to improve the quality of the air in your home!

Celebrate Spring with a Garden-themed Easter Basket

Got a wicked sweet tooth? Mine was raging during this last pregnancy, and it really got me thinking about how I don’t want to pass my love/hate relationship with sugar on to my kids. Cutting back on candy is tough, though…especially when every single holiday seems to revolve around it. But all that means is that, as parents, we have to get a little more creative, right?

So aside from a few Annie’s gummy bunnies, we’ve decided that this year’s basket will be devoted to the thing we love most about spring: the garden! Since our family’s celebration is focused less on religious beliefs and more on the fertility and rebirth associate with spring (like Ostara), a basket full of garden-themed items seems perfect to me!
