I’m super excited (and slightly nervous) to announce that my baby girl and I will be heading to Philly for MommyCon one week from today! The excitement is for obvious reasons, and the nervousness…well, that’s just because I don’t like driving in a city I don’t know. Once my car is safely parked somewhere, I’ll be just fine.
I’m also pretty stoked to announce that I’ll be wearing my little one all day (strollers are discouraged at the event), courtesy of lillebaby! We never used a stroller much, but it was just easier for us to hold our first child, I guess. This time, babywearing is coming so much easier and I can’t believe how helpful and beneficial it is. Here’s the orange and cream beauty we’ll be sporting… Continue reading
Oh, if you could only see my house right now. It’s babytown from one end to the other. I spent most of the day in our two garages, weeding through stuff for our community yard sale this Friday. I kept at it like a hurricane, not stopping long enough to really let it hit me: We’re getting rid of our baby gear!
Not all of it. But Miss E is almost 6 months old, so there are a lot of things we don’t need anymore. Seats that she can almost flip out of, swings that barely hold her, sleepy little nests that make her fussy because she can’t move around. So I decided that it’s time to declutter this joint. And as sad as I’ll be to see those things go, it’s all good…because Tiny Love sent me their 3-in-1 Rocker Napper (in the new Flow design!) to check out, and it takes the place of almost every piece of baby gear we were using.
It’s one of the most overused phrases in the world of parenthood: Where does the time go?
Really, though. How is it possible that my baby girl is teething? Wasn’t she just born? Nope…believe it or not, she’s closing in on 6 months old. My son had teeth at 4 months, but she’s taking a little longer. They’re on their way, though, as evidenced by her puddles of drool and and tendency to frantically bite everything she can get her tiny fingers on. Continue reading
Maybe it’s because my baby loves them, or maybe it’s because the only accessory I’ve been sporting lately is a stain on my shirt, but I’m totally and completely smitten with my new Chewbeads. “Mommy chic, baby safe”, Chewbeads are teething necklaces that mommy can wear and baby can chew on!
I have some pretty major news: I’ve accomplished the impossible.
With the help of the new Motorola Blink1, I’ve finally managed to be in two places at once! It’s every mom’s dream!
When my husband planted our garden, he planned it so that the kids would always be able to see it from their bedroom window. It’s nice that they can look out and see the veggies growing, but that view only goes one way. When we’re outside, we can’t see in. And since I left my job and we’re relying on that garden to fill our freezer, it’s pretty important that I’m out there as much as possible. Naptime is the ideal time to head out and get some of the heavier work done, but how do I do that when I don’t know if my little lady is inside crying for me?
For a while, I put my garden work on hold during those afternoon nap hours. And then, along came my Motorola Blink1!
It’s cute, isn’t it? While I will admit that I love new techy gadgets, I’m not the best at knowing how to use them unless they’re really user-friendly – and this one is! Once I opened the box, I was watching my baby sleep within 10 minutes, tops. On my iPhone! The Motorola BLINK1 turns any compatible Smartphone, tablet or computer into a video monitoring system.
