This post about soft muslin swaddle blankets was brought to you by Zutano, who provided a sample product to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own and honest based on my experience with the product.
I got some funny looks recently when I let out a serious squeal over a new set of swaddle blankets.
“She’s a year old! What are you going to do with swaddlers?” a friend asked.
Oh, silly, silly friend. What WON’T we do with swaddlers is the real question! Now, I love swaddlers as a rule, but I have to say that the biggest squee came when I found out that Zutano prints are now available on aden + anais swaddle blankets (in their Just for Aden line) – a partnership that ranks up there with chocolate and peanut butter in brilliance. Since I brought Miss Plum home in Zutano owls, they have a special place in my heart and I’m delighted to have them on some snuggly blankies now!
Especially because they match her big girl Zutano clothes. See – the owls are back again! I think we’re going to see a LOT of Zutano around here this spring. Their kids’ clothing is just so vibrant, yet the colors never fade in the wash. Playful personality and comfortable construction put Zutano on our short list of absolute favorite sources for baby clothes!
But beyond the prints, aden + anais muslin swaddle blankets have become a well-loved must-have around our house, and I have a feeling they always will be. Burrito baby days may be over (and I sure do miss them!) but now we all use our swaddlers, and you’ll rarely find us without one nearby for a multitude of reasons.
Just today, my baby girl and I spent a good twenty minutes engaged in a rousing game of peekaboo under a swaddle blanket. Eliciting baby giggles is by far the best pastime I can think of. Could you resist peekabooing this face?
Swaddle blankets also make an ideal nursing cover. They’re light, airy and breathable, so if you like to cover, you can do so comfortably even in the heat of summer.
Just toss it over your shoulder. It’s way better than throwing a heavy blanket over baby’s head!
And many of the available prints can be used as a scarf or headwrap for Mommy, so you can keep one with you as part of your outfit! It’s all about streamlining and making things easier, Mom, and one less accessory is one less thing to think about.
Swaddle blankets also make a superb picnic blanket, both for real and pretend picnics.
Or tea parties, of course.
And then there’s the never ending list of other uses for swaddle blankets, like building a fort, swaddling a doll, wrapping a gift, packing a lunch, making a light curtain, covering a table, shielding a baby in a stroller, and so on, and so on…
But, of course, no list of swaddle blanket uses would be complete without the most important use of all: snuggles! You’re never too big to appreciate the soft, comfy snuggliness that is aden + anais muslin, and I’m proof. I sleep with mine almost every night!
Did you swaddle your baby? Did you find other uses for your swaddle blankets?
