2013 Holiday Gift Guide: Hallmark Interactive Story Buddy {12/12}

I have clear childhood memories of browsing the holiday selection at my local Hallmark Store. As soon as they were unveiled for the season, I would go in and marvel at the ornaments, carefully choosing which ones I would put on my wishlist. Since I always wanted to be a baker, I usually chose the ones that featured holiday cookies or kitchen utensils. And the Barbies…oh, the Barbies.

Now, I look forward to taking my son in to see the new Hallmark items each year. He likes the ornaments, but more than anything, he loves the plush toys. This year, he’s snuggling up to Jingle, the cute little husky pup from the Hallmark Interactive Story Buddy line! It’s a great holiday gift, but I think I might like it even better as a pre-holiday gift, when things are getting hectic and little ones need a few more quiet story breaks than usual.

Jingle is super cute on his own, as you can see.

But he’s got a bit of a “superpower” (remember, I live with a 4-year-old. Everything is a superpower.)

Jingle responds when you read to him from the storybook that comes with him or play the read-along CD!

All you have to do is read the story book aloud (and you’ll love it…the illustrations are totally warm and fuzzy :) ) and Jingle will bark, sing, and howl in response at just the right time.

Here’s a quick clip of what it sounds like:

The fun continues long past Christmas with a whole collection of books that coordinate with Jingle. Each book reveals more key phrases and more things for Jingle to say.

Jingle even teams up with his BFF, Bell, in some of the books. She’s available as a plush friend, too, and Jingle responds to her the same way he responds to you. Sweet, huh? There’s even a Jingle All the Way app for iPad®, available for FREE on the App Store!

In addition to Jingle and Bell, Hallmark’s Interactive Story Buddy line includes many more friends, like Bigsby the Monster, Nugget the Dog (the one we want for our baby girl!), Abigail the Bunny, and licensed characters like Scooby Doo and Winnie the Pooh. Check out the whole collection of Interactive Story Buddies at Hallmark.com.
