9 months? When did THAT happen? And she’s “traveling” now, which means the days are numbered until the full-on walking begins.
Somebody hold me.
As much as I’d like to make time stand still for a minute, there’s no denying that it’s time for my baby girl to start wearing shoes! Not just cute accessory shoes, but real shoes, made for real walking.
Our choice? pediped™ Originals.
Why pediped? The soft, flexible soles of Originals® are recommended by pediatricians and podiatrists because they allow children to closely mimic barefoot walking. Originals® are made of the highest quality leather on the market today and also feature a soft foam insert between leather layers. They are so comfortable, your child will not want to take them off! ~ pediped.com
I love the Mary Jane style with the velcro strap because it slips on her foot easily, even when she scrunches her toes. A good feature, because a shoe just isn’t going to do much good if you can’t get it on a baby’s foot! They feel really sturdy and durable, but not so stiff that they feel rigid. Best of all, the nice leather sole feels like it’s going to wear in comfortably while holding up to lots of little steps.
We have the Isabella Originals in Chocolate Brown, so they go with everything. But a pop of color would be fun, too, and who could resist this Eggplant color (especially for my little Plum!)
It’s nice to know that pediped will take us well into childhood with 3 lines of shoes, designed to fit kids up to 8 years old (my son can wear them too!)
- Originals – Ideal for infants and children learning to walk
- Grip n’ Go – Perfect for the active toddler transitioning from early walking to a confident stride
- Flex – The Ultimate for confident walkers who have developed a solid natural stride
