Protect Your Investment: The Naturepedic Waterproof Mattress Pad

Once you make the decision to invest in a quality mattress for your child, there’s only one logical next step. (No, not pretty bedding. That’s the third step. 😉 ) You need to protect it! No matter what kind of mattress you have, covering it with a Naturepedic waterproof mattress pad is the best way to ensure that your investment lasts a very long time.

You may ask, “Why do I need to protect my mattress? Protect it from what?”

Even if your child is completely potty-friendly, there are lots of things that can yuck up their bed (and yours.) If you’re breastfeeding, you know the mess a leak can make. Kids get sick. People sweat. Drinks and snacks get spilled. Dust mites creep in.

Yup. Dust mites. Eeeew.

Naturepedic waterproof mattress pads can help protect against all of those things. Even dust mites.

But don’t all pads do that? Maybe. Some do. But Naturepedic does it best.

First and foremost, we trust Naturepedic because of their commitment to health and safety. Any time we need sleep-related items, I go to Naturepedic first, because there’s no substitute. They have achieved Greenguard “Select” certification, meaning that they go above and beyond, taking even more steps to ensure a safe and healthy sleeping environment. You can check out all of their certifications, awards and approvals here. It’s just a super huge bonus that the materials they use happen to be soft and comfortable too, so you don’t have to sacrifice comfort OR safety. Naturepedic offers both.

What a great idea. The truth is that I wish we had this on our king size mattress as my little ones have spilled not only drinks in my bed, but my bed seems to be the place they go to for cuddles when they don’t feel well! Thanks for the post

    • Wendy says

Smart move! Since my husband and I do not have an organic mattress, I really want to get us a pad like this too. Next best thing, right?

  2. Amanda says

I just love everything Naturepedic makes! It is such great quality and you can sleep much better knowing your baby is not sleeping or being changed on a bunch of toxins. Great products and a great American made product from Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

  3. Kimberly says

I looked all over for something like this before our first baby was born. I could not find a mattress pad that was PVC and phthalate free AND waterproof. Now that we’re expecting baby #2, I’m glad I know that these are available.

  4. Jennifer says

I love how easy it is to put on! those zip over ones are a pain in the butt to change in the middle of the night when your kid pees the bed!

  5. Jutta P says

Wow, that looks amazing. I have been searching for a new mattress for awhile now, I don’t think I will be able to afford a Naturepedic, but I will definetly be looking into one of their waterproof pads to protect whatever I get. Awesome!

I love that it has all the features of a traditional mattress pad and also reduces uneven temperatures and sweating.
