2013 Holiday Gift Guide: B.Toys

Holiday Gift Guide

I’ve been a fan of B. Toys for about as long as I’ve been a mom. Not only are the toys unique and just plain cool, but the company has a conscience. Couple that with their commitment to providing the most imaginative play experience for kids, and I’m a B-liever!

This year, we’ll be giving our little man the Symphony in B. This has got to be one of the most interesting toys I’ve ever seen, and I honestly can’t wait to play with it. It includes 13 instruments that fit into the orchestra pit. Your child can choose up to 8 at a time to play together, creating beautiful symphonies with coordinating lights. A huge bonus: the music is professionally recorded and really, really nice to listen to. How many kids toys can say THAT?!

Here. Take a listen:

I have no doubt the Symphony in B is going to be a smash hit. But that’s not the only toy from the B. Toys line that will be under our tree this year! Our tiny girl will be getting her own Zany Zoo!

I have some selfish motives here. This toy will keep her occupied for long periods of time so I can get a thing or two done, plus it is all one piece! Nothing to lose or clean up! Smart, huh?

With beautifully illustrated A-Z animals, loopty-loo routes, zig zag paths and spinny spinners, what’s not to love? She’ll be a little over 10 months old, so I think this is the perfect investment for years of fun. (And I think her brother just might like it, too.)

A company with a conscience:

So, what does that mean anyway? For B. Toys, it means a lot of things. A portion of every purchase is donated to help change the world for children. Their minimal packaging is designed to be reused and recycled (some even doubles as reversible gift wrap!) Their inks are soy-based, the varnishes are water-based, and their clear plastics are the most widely recycled variety. But best of all, they say (and mean) things like this:

We want to be a voice to children that says it’s okay to be curious, to be pensive, to be loud, to be happy and sad all at the same time, to be generous, to be afraid, to be quiet, to be wild, to be fun, to be open, to be scientific, to be poetic, to be giddy, to be serious, to be smart, to be free, to be you.

Just B. Just you. B. you.

If we can swing it, we might pick up a few other B. Toys, too. There are so many great quality learning toys I want my littles to have! You can view the entire line-up here.  And just in case you need any extra incentive, remember: every B. toy you buy gives 10 cents to Free the Children, the world’s largest network of children helping children. B. cause really, is there anything more important?

These look like great gift ideas! I like toys that have multiple activities so they keep your child engaged for long periods of times!

I had never heard of this toy company before. The toys sound fabulous. I will keep them in mind the next time I need to buy a gift.
