It’s tailgating season! But when I cheer on game day, it’s not for either team. What I’m excited about this time of year is the top notch snacks you find wherever football fans gather!

Since parties and get-togethers seem to always happen at the last minute, I’ve got a foolproof recipe I turn to every time. My Easy Tzatziki Dip recipe has all the attributes of a winning snack:

It’s big on flavor, so everyone likes it.

It’s super easy and only takes a few minutes to make.

It’s full of fresh, real ingredients and veggies that help to balance out the buffet of salty, cheesy, Buffalo-y standbys you’re sure to encounter.

Tzatziki is a Greek cucumber and yogurt sauce that adds a cool touch to lots of dishes. This is a thicker version that I use as a dip, and I love it served with these Green Giant™ Veggie Snack Chips and some freshly cut vegetables. My husband is especially fond of the Garden Ranch flavor chips. I wish I could have caught his reaction to them the first time I set them out for him to try. He was paying no attention to what he was eating, and one bite of a chip stopped him mid-sentence:

“So, I stopped by to look at that Subaru and…WHOA. THOSE ARE GOOD.

I like them because they’re made with whole grains and veggies and don’t have icky stuff like trans fat or food dyes.

Admittedly, I tend to veer off into the weird chip category, like organic beet chips or the no-fail kale, but these Green Giant veggie chips are a good alternative because when I show up to a party with them, people house the whole bag. Then they ask me where I found them so they can buy them, too…all while I revel in my evil plan to fill the world with more veggies in any way I can.

But seriously, even though they’re made with real vegetables like sweet potatoes, broccoli, tomatoes and bell peppers, I think the best thing is the flavor. Have you ever dug through a bag of flavored chips to find the ones with all the “stuff” on them? You know, the really good ones? Well every one of these chips is that chip. We’ve tried the Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chip in Garden Ranch and the Multigrain Sweet Potato Chip in Barbecue (fabulous with fresh salsa verde), and the only negative thing I can say is that I wish the bags were bigger.

So get fired up for the next game with a batch of Easy Tzatziki Dip and score some points by serving it with Green Giant Veggie Chips!

Real tzatziki is definitely a little more work, but if you’re looking for something quick, this dip is great! I started making it this summer when our cucumbers were in full swing.

These look delicious but I must admit the jolly green giant kind of creeps me out. The page loaded and i jumped. It’s a childhood thing.

I went to our wholesale club and they were doing samples of these and fire roasted tomato salsa. Oh my goodness I love them. I was really surprised at the flavor.
