Is It Time for Teeth Already!? {Spark of Amber Giveaway} Ends 8.6

It’s one of the most overused phrases in the world of parenthood: Where does the time go?

Really, though. How is it possible that my baby girl is teething? Wasn’t she just born? Nope…believe it or not, she’s closing in on 6 months old. My son had teeth at 4 months, but she’s taking a little longer. They’re on their way, though, as evidenced by her puddles of drool and and tendency to frantically bite everything she can get her tiny fingers on.

Oh, those little fits of rabid gnawing…she gets so worked up I would almost think it was cute if I didn’t know how uncomfortable she was.

We tried lots of things to ease the pain of teething the first time around. Some worked, some didn’t, and many contained so many questionable ingredients that we didn’t even try them. And then we did a little research about the benefits of baltic amber.

Baltic amber is believed by many to have calming effects, or even the power to heal and reduce pain, so it’s often worn by those who suffer from arthritic pain, joint discomfort…and yes, teething! Now, I’m not here to make any medical claims, but it’s hard to argue with a naturally occurring stone whose properties have been successfully utilized in medicine for centuries longer than any modern option.

This time around, we are using a raw amber teething necklace from Spark of Amber on our baby girl. She wears her necklace whenever she gets fussy, and once she gets used to it I’ll probably leave it on her most of the time (it is not recommended to leave them on baby when sleeping or unattended.) As she wears it, the succinic acid in the stones is thought to help calm her and reduce her discomfort. (Please note: these necklaces are to be worn against the skin, NOT chewed on. They do not function as teethers.)

A note from Spark of Amber:

“Baltic Amber is a fossilized resin found in the Baltic Region, primarily in Lithuania. It contains 3-8% of Succinic Acid, long prized for its medicinal qualities. Amazingly, the highest content of the healing Succinic Acid is found in the EXTERNAL layer of the Baltic Amber.

Europeans greatly prize beautiful Baltic Amber for its claimed 100% natural anti-inflammatory, pain relieving, and calming properties for babies and toddlers. The healing oils (Succinic Acid) of the Baltic Amber are said to relieve teething pain, tame baby’s irritability, and relieve inflammation in the throat, ear, and stomach.

Authentic Baltic Amber is also used as an anti-toxic and anti-bacterial agent, for headaches, for skin irritations, for bronchial conditions, and for throat and thyroid conditions (along with many other uses).

Baltic Amber is very light-weight, making Baltic Amber jewelry extremely comfortable to wear for both children and adults.”

Spark of Amber carries a beautiful selection of authentic, handcrafted, calming Baltic Amber jewelry. They offer teething necklaces and bracelets, along with stunning jewelry for all ages–earrings, pendants, bracelets, anklets, rings! And this is huge: shipping is always fast and FREE!
