Having bubble trouble? Try Babytime! by Episencial

I’m so glad I’ve taken a trillion photos since our little guy was born three years ago. It’s so much fun to go back and reminisce about the days when my house was relatively quiet…

This photo is one of my favorites. It’s from the days when he was still tiny and using the baby bath tub. Can you imagine being so fascinated by a simple stream of water? Babies are sooo cool…

Bathtime was so much fun that I couldn’t wait until we could put him in the big tub and fill it with piles and piles of bubbles. Once he could sit up, that was the first thing we did…and it was a blast! Until a few weeks later when his skin starting getting red and scaly. It was eczema, and we narrowed it down to the bubble bath.

I was devastated to think we’d have to bathe bubble-less!

Luckily, a little research introduced me to Episencial, a safe and natural skin care line with products you can feel good about for both mom and baby. We ended up trying several of the products in their baby line, and adding them to our list of everyday must-haves.  (Note: The name of the line has recently been changed to Babytime! by Episencial, mainly because it is easier to remember and spell, and it resonates more with moms. A really smart move, in my opinion. I love the new name!)

All products in the line are creating based on Episencial’s 3-step skincare system – the three steps being 1. Bathe, 2. Nurture, 3. Protect – which provides a complete, whole body approach to caring for young skin. As an added bonus, all products come in recycled, BPA-free packaging.

After several weeks of using Episencial Peaceful Bubbles with our son, we noticed that his skin was perfectly clear – and we’ve been using it ever since. Over 3 years now, and not a single problem. Peaceful Bubbles gave us our bathtime fun back, so I was very happy to see that they kept all the same pure, natural ingredients when they updated their name.

While I was researching non-toxic, natural bubble bath for kids, I read some reviews of Episencial that included complaints about a lack of bubbles. I’d like to go on record here as saying that we have NOT found this to be true. Yes, it might bubble up a little less than some of the mainstream brands, but my husband (our in-house bath runner extraordinaire) has it down to a science and he gets TONS of bubbles. He pours the Peaceful Bubbles right under the faucet, and agitates the water a bit with his hand while it runs.

Here are the results:

See? Lots of bubbles and no itchy skin = happy kid! (And, a kid that smells of clean lavender plum makes for a happy mom, too.)

Peaceful Bubbles are made with soothing, sugar-based foaming agents and natural healing skin oils. Plus, they are pH-balanced to be clean-rinsing, tear-free and non-irritating for little girls, so we can continue using them for years.

Other products we use regularly from Babytime! by Episencial are the Sunny Sunscreen, the berry-scented Snuggle Lotion (made with organic avocado, flax and olive fruit oils) and the Cheeky Salve, which is helping us out right now with our newborn’s flaky scalp. It’s great for chapped baby cheeks, too!

Wow!! I would love to try this! We have a daughter and she loves bubble baths, but most of them “burn” (as she says) and irritate her skin. I love the idea that the Snuggle Lotion is made with Avocado and that the Cheeky Salve is good for a newborn scalp…. I wish I had had that when my daughter was so little. I will definitely remember that for baby #2!

  18. Elvin Cutchall says:

Many parents underestimate the sensitivity of their child’s skin. While it may be tempting to save money and use the same dry skin care products on your baby’s skin as you would on your own, this can cause serious problems. Imagine using bar soap on the sensitive skin of your face as compared to a specialty product designed for the chemistry of your skin. It would likely end up causing you a great deal of discomfort. The same thing would happen to your baby’s skin if you were to consistently use products geared for adults to cleanse it. An unhappy baby can be a very loud baby, and dry skin can make babies incredibly unhappy.’
