With all the chaos of Halloween, extreme weather on the east coast, and my little man’s birthday, November 11th nearly slipped my mind.
What’s November 11th? It’s Veterans Day!
Veterans Day has never meant more to me than it does now. My dad is a Vietnam vet, and in recent years he’s started to open up about his experience more than he ever did while I was growing up. As a kid, I guess I thought it was just something dads did. No big deal.
Now I know. I know the sacrifice, the uncertainty, the fear that he experienced. I know the dedication and strength it took. And those things make me appreciate him, along with all the men and women who have served our country, so much more.
In recognition of Veterans Day, Shutterfly is offering us all a fantastic opportunity to do a little something for our troops. Just like their Facebook page, click on “Thank the Troops” and you can design a free personalized card for our dedicated troops – Shutterfly will even print and send it for you! There are 4 options to choose from, and you can add photos if you’d like.
It’s a little thing you can do to celebrate the really big things over 1.5 million troops do for us every day.
I hope you’ll join me in honoring all of our country’s veterans on November 11th!
