Our Fall Haul from Cookie's Kids: Kids' Fashion for Less! #CookieKids #CBias

I usually dread the end of summer. This year is a different story. Being pregnant and miserable in the summer heat has me welcoming fall with open arms!

I really do like the feel of fall (it’s the winter I dread!) The pumpkins, the crunchy leaves, long runs in the cool air.

It’s a great time of year to bake and do home improvement projects and craft. Oh, and then there’s the none-too-small task of thinning out the kids’ closets. Bye-bye, shorts and flip-flops! Long sleeves are back in town!

But, as any mom knows, building a new fall wardrobe can be expensive and time-consuming. That’s where Cookie’s Kids saves the day. No, they don’t sell cookies, silly! 😆 Cookie’s Kids is a store with a great array of children’s fashions at unbeatable prices.

And when I say unbeatable prices, I really mean it. Shirts for $5? Yup. Pajamas for $10? You’ll find lots. Your favorite characters, like Sesame Street, Bob the Builder and Angry Birds, without the crazy “licensed character” markup price? You betcha. And you don’t have to sacrifice quality for price, either. You’ll find everything from Nautica and Guess to Carter’s and Disney!

My favorite thing about Cookie’s Kids? They’re online, too! And that means peaceful shopping from home, after bedtime. In my opinion, it’s the only way to shop for kids’ clothes.

Here’s the haul we just got from Cookie’s Kids for only $40. Aren’t those Vintage Snoopy thermal pajamas the cutest thing ever?

In addition to an easily navigated website, the shipping was super fast, too. My package was waiting on my doorstep in a matter of a few days. It’s a good thing, too, because Little Man was in a hurry to wear his new Snoopy jams!

The first time I visited the website, I knew we needed a light jacket for fall. So, I headed straight for the hoodies. I was so excited to find a Halloween-y, skeleton-inspired Full Skeleton Hoodie for only $12.99! Why do I love it so much? Because it reminds me of these photos we took of our boy way back in 2010, when he was just a year old…

With the help of Cookie’s Kids, I was able to (sort of) recreate the photo! :)

Fun, right? I love it!

Here are a few more photos of my boy feeling like a million bucks in his new fall clothes…

That soft and cuddly blue striped waffle knit shirt up there? Yeah. $3.99. I’m telling you, the prices are about the best you could ask for.

He loves his new waffle shirt and twill pants. Do you?

But don’t take my word for it: #CookiesKids has to be doing something right, because they’re celebrating their 40th anniversary this year! Here’s a little back story…

In 1972, a young man named Cookie and his brother Marvin went into business together. They rented a 1600 square foot store in Jamaica, Queens, fixed it up, bought inventory and Summer andFall, and opened a day after Thanksgiving with a full stock of holiday toys. The toys were a success and they put the extra money toward buying children’s clothing for the next season. When that did well, they bought more clothing. The business was on it’s way.

As the brothers Cookie, Marvin and Sonny, who had come in as a third partner in the business, began to open new stores in new locations, inventory expanded. Besides the latest fashions, our customers wanted shoes, toys, backpacks and accessories and we were prepared to deliver.

By the late 1990’s there were six superstores throughout the NYC area, and though they previously had different names, by that time they were all named Cookie’s Kids. Also in the late ’90s came an important addition to Cookie’s Kids’ inventory: school uniforms. It was the steady success in uniform sales that paved the way for founding CookiesKids.com in 2007, which originally sold uniforms and soon after the entire Cookie’s Kids Inventory.

Here are a few more items I’ll be picking up before winter sets in. It’s not really even a “wish list”…it’s more of a “definitely going to buy” list.

CookiesKids.com is a online shopping destination for everything from denim to school uniforms, but they also have 7 stores in the NYC area in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Jamaica. If you’re a New Yorker, find your local storehere.
